"He makes all things new and I will follow Him forward" - these lyrics, sung by Paul Heflin during the appeal on the last night of our Get On Board series, set the stage for the baptism held the next day, where we welcomed 29 new believers into our church family.

Get on Board was our "preparation" series - Dr. Abraham Jules reminded us why we're Adventists and what we need to clean up in our lives if we truly intend to make 2012 a year of evangelism for Metro.  His humor - this preacher had us rolling in the aisles - helped accentuate the power of the points he drove home to us night after night.

On Sabbath, after Pastor B recreated the power of the day of Pentecost, we witnessed another powerful baptism.  Sandra Sam, who went into the pool in support of her friend (above), talked about how she'd prayed with her friend for 15 years.  15 years!

Zhayne Hackett (below) woke on on Sabbath morning and insisted to his father that he must get baptized today.  He absolutely must, and he wouldn't take no for an answer.  He was the first candidate in the water, to Pastor B's delight.

We had a mom go into the pool with her daughter.  We had cousins get baptized.  We had a family of 8 - yes 8 people!! - in the pool at the same time!!  What a wonderful thing to see - an entire family deciding to go all the way with Jesus.  Our pastors were beaming after that one!

Guy Francois - who for years has been the only Adventist in his family - was able to see his younger brother join God's family.  Calvin and Claudette Smith (below) rededicated their lives to God.

And these are just a few of the amazing stories behind those 29 baptisms!  We here at Metro have taken the Gospel Commission to heart - we are going into [our part of] the world, [teaching] and baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever [He has] commanded us.  Won't you get on board with us?
