A very happy new year to you, Metro church family! We wish you God's richest blessings during 2019.
We also want to invite you to consider how you can connect with our church this year. As you know, our ministries depend on the availability of volunteers to run successful programs. Unfortunately, many of our departments have seen their staff shrink, and only a few people are helping to share the load.
This is where you come in! We need your help - we'd like you to volunteer to serve with at least one department during 2019. If you've served before and took a break, break time is over! We need you back! :-) If you've never served, and are unsure about where you'd like to help, or you aren't even sure what volunteer opportunities exist for you, we've got you covered!
On January 26, after the 11:45 a.m. service, we'll be hosting a ministry fair. Representatives from all of our ministries will be available to tell you about what their departments do, and how you can help. None of our ministries (except the weekly "nurse on duty" and the band) require specialized knowledge. You can learn, and we are happy to teach you, what you need to do to assist. So don't think "I can't do that", or "They don't want me." That is all #fakenews!! If you're really concerned that you may not be able to volunteer on your own, follow Jesus' example: He sent the disciples out two by two. Bring a friend with you and both of you can sign up!
Please, please plan to come out to the ministry fair on Janaury 26. Bring your questions and we'll happily answer them. We'll also provide light refreshments, so you won't be able to use hunger as an excuse to skip out right after church! :-)
See you there! That's Saturday, January 26 after the 11:45 a.m. service.
