We're Honoring Servant Leaders!

Written by Metro Blogger.

servant leaders 1920

At Metro, we pray, love and serve.  On September 15, we're taking some time to honor a few members of our community who have committed their lives to service.  During our 11:45 a.m. service on September 15, we will the work that:

  • Jerry Woods and Producer Spencer White do every morning on the WGTS 91.9 morning show
  • Paul Montiero - current chief of staff at Howard University, who has committed his life to public service, including time with the Obama administration
  • Mayor Candace Hollingsworth - we met her at our inaugural "Know Fear" program shortly after she'd decided to run for mayor of Hyattsville against a long-time incombent (she won!) and
  • Principal Denise Dunn - former principal of Ridgecrest Elementary, Metro's "adopted" school.

It's said that you should give people their flowers before they die.  We invite you to join us as we celebrate the achievements and service these five servant leaders give to our community every day.

It's a new month and we're starting a new series:  Take the City!  Join Pastors Kinlock and Smith as they continue our 2018 theme of getting out into our community and show us how we will take the city for Jesus.  The series starts on September 1 and will run through October 20.
