The AWAKENING - 21 days of prayer, fasting and personal devotion

Written by Melissa Andrews.

Metro!  As Pastor Kinlock has been challenging us to get out into our community to love and serve, we are also challenging you to devote some extra time to the third leg of our mission statement - prayer.  We will be doing a 21-day Daniel Fast as a church family, starting on Saturday, February 3.  What's a Daniel Fast?  How do you participate?  Keep reading for all of the details, and register to participate if you'd like to receive the daily devotion updates and reminders about the daily prayer calls.

Hi Metro!  We know you're happily working on your personal service projects - the random acts of kindness you're doing for others during the month of January. (If you don't know what we're talking about, click here).  Now we want to invite you to participate in two service projects that we will be doing as a church family - on January 20 and 21.

La Cour Royale is an initiative of the Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Sister-to Sister Youth Ministry. Its primary goal is to prepare high school seniors for continuing education through the opportunity to participate in a scholarship program and learn life skills that will help prepare them to be successful contributors to society and for eternity.  This six-month program focuses on spiritual development, character building, social development, academic excellence, and service to community, and culminates in a grand Cotillion-Beautillion Ball, which takes place at 2:00 p.m. on April 29, 2018, at the North Bethesda Marriott.

Donations to students' scholarships and ticket purchases for the Cotillion-Beautillion Ball can be made here.  Continue reading to view a video that walks you through making a donation to a student's scholarship or purchasing tickets for the Cotillion.
