Remember Laquan McDonald?  You may have forgotten him.  He's the 17-year-old whom Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke apparently mistook for a target during shooting practice in October, 2014.  Van Dyke emptied 16 bullets into McDonald, as McDonald was moving away from him.  The story caused the typical brouhaha that occurs when white cops shoot black males, but as usual, nothing really happened.  Same ole, same ole, right?  Why am I even bringing this up again?

Our photography expo has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m.

We're excited to invite you to the first ever Metropolitan Photography Expo!  Photograhers of all levels will have their work on display for the enjoyment of the attendees and for suggestions and tips from other photographers.  The fun takes place on Saturday, January 23 at 6:00 p.m.  We'll have a very special guest with us - Sharon Farmer, former director of White House photography (yes, that's the White House).

For participating photographers:  there are some rules and guidelines for how many photos you can submit, how your photos should be displayed and so on.  Read all the rules and guidelines here.  You MUST let us know of your intent to participate and submit electronic versions of the photos you will display by Sunday, February 6.  If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Myron Ottley [This email address is being protected from spambots.
