Metro members! We’ve heard from many of you that you’d like more opportunities to mingle with your fellow church members in a non-church setting, so that you can start to build friendships. As such, we are pleased to introduce Metro Connects - a Friday evening worship get-together with Metro members who live near you!
Our first Metro Connects event is on Friday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m. We’ve identified several geographical areas where Metro members are clustered, and you’ll get to pick the one that’s closest to you, or that’s most convenient for you. We’ll group people by location and then send you the addresses where you’ll be meeting. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and greet with others in your local area and spend some time in study together.
Of course, it hasn't escaped our notice that February is Valentine's Day, and we think that's the perfect day to start this initiative. At Metro, we pray, love and serve, and we view this as an opportunity for us to shower love on each other. So sign up today, and encourage your friends to sign up too! We think this is going to be the beginning of some beautiful friendships!
The Music Department invites you to join the Metro Chorale – a new choir directed by Nevilla E. Ottley. The choir will perform classical anthems (by black, white and contemporary composers ), as well as spirituals and some early gospel.
Metro Chorale will sing for both services every other month with two Tuesday rehearsals (7:30 – 8:50 p.m.) and an 8:00 p.m. Friday night warm up and sound check before each appointment. Teens, adults, and seniors are welcome to join. If interested, call or text Mrs. Ottley at 301-467-1021 by January 31.
We've listed the entire performance schedule for the year so you can plan accordingly!
