dreamstime s 28452940Well - we know we can't really prevent you from dying from breast cancer, but we aim to give you a fighting chance!  Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women in the US.  However, for African American women, although they are less likely than white women to be diagnosed with breast cancer, they are 60% more likely to die from the disease.  This is because they tend to be affected at younger ages with more agreessive forms of the disease.  In addition, many women with early breast cancer have no symptoms.  There is hope though!  If there is early detection of the cancer, treatment can be very effective.
