weird-animals-vbs-fbKids love crazy, weird animals…the weirder the better. So we searched the globe for the most special, unique, rare, never-before-seen animals we could find to help kids discover what Jesus' one-of-a-kind love means in their lives.  God filled the world with a lot of crazy creatures...including you!  When kids feel weird, different, or even lost in a crowd - nothing compares to the extraordinary love of Jesus.  We hope to reinforce this truth in our kids' minds this week!  Register today!

fuzzywuzzyI’m always amazed at the object lessons Christ teaches me through my interaction with children.  This year, I had the opportunity to serve as a small group leader for our Athens Vacation Bible School program.  I thoroughly enjoyed my vibrant troop of 6-9 year olds. I can’t tell you how many times I laughed till I cried at the comedy those children brought me every single day.  I’d like to share the lessons I learned from a short conversation I had with a little girl on the last day of VBS.

athens vbs picsOur children had a WONDERFUL time visiting Athens and learning about Paul.  Each evening was full of singing, laughing, playing, and eating.  We had a large crew from Triumphant Baptist Church join us during the week.  It was great seeing their children and ours playing and learning together.  These pictures are courtesy Claudette Smith (with one or two thrown in by Melissa Andrews).  Enjoy!  Plan to support us next year (look at the credits - it takes a LOT of volunteers to make VBS happen).

On the first night of VBS we had about 50 kids attend.  By the second night that number had grown to about 65!  Each night the kids and the counselors would gather with Valrie Applewhite, Jasmin Crossfield, LatĂ©y Bradford and little Jordan Sam as they led us all in the theme song and taught new songs. The theme song was a hit as the chorus of the song has each group run around in a circle!
