park-n-praise-july262014What do you get when young adults from around the DC Metro area gather in a park to feed the homeless and have praise and worship?  Park n’ Praise!!!  Come out to the second annual Park n’ Praise – Saturday, July 26 at 2:30 p.m. in McPherson Square Park in Washington, DC. (Check out the promo video below!)

Members from the Seabrook, Metropolitan, Takoma Park and Restoration Praise Center Seventh-day Adventist Churches plan to feed and clothe 500 homeless people, and minister to 1000 people.  They will give meals and bottled water to homeless individuals in and around the park, give away clothes and toiletries, provide free health check-ups, and share a worship service that includes musical selections, a vesper thought, poetry and more.

We need your help to make Park n’ Praise a success!!  What can you do?

  • Volunteer – as a cook, as a server, as security, assist with security, and more!
  • Donate – contributions of new and gently used clothing are needed (clean clothes only, please!), cases of bottled water, and toiletries for men and women.  Metro – we are asked to contribute bar soap.  We look forward to collecting 500 or more bars of soap.  Donations must be received by July 19.  You can leave your donations at our table in the foyer.
  • Monetary donations are  ALWAYS welcome!  Donate securely here.  Please select Park N Praise from the drop down menu.

There are Park n’ Praise t-shirts available for purchase! The deadline to order t-shirts is July 15.  Of course – you can always wear your BTW or Pray-Love-Serve t-shirts as well.  We just need you to show up to help!  We will coordinate transporation and lunch for our Metro volunteers, however, you MUST sign up!

Need more info?  Visit the Park n’ Praise website or email This email address is being protected from spambots. I'm extremely blessed and grateful for all that I have learned as I grow steadily in the Word. The more we know His Word and the more we are in His Word, the better we can respond to darkness. I'm excited as I find myself becoming filled with light and being able to shine some of that light onto others. With God's grace and mercy, I continue to aim to be a doer and not just a hearer of the Word. I strive to do more than to just listen to sermons. I strive to be a sermon! :-)
