Two months ago, Metropolitan hosted a Lifted program that was dedicated to our youth. We used the opportunity to converse with teens and young adults about sex and relationships. There was a great amount of participation and many of the young people were able to share their perspectives.
As we began to close, the moderator asked, "Can you talk to your parents about sex?" Surprisingly, almost all of the teens said no!
Parents - if your teen has questions about sex and relationships and they're not asking you...who do you think they're getting their answers from?
This time, parents are going to be on the hot seat, discussing statements like:
- I do not want to know my teens are having sex
- I am afraid to talk about sex with my teen; I don't know what to say
Join us this Saturday at Metropolitan at 6:00 p.m. for Part 2 of the series - LIFT.sex.ED. Families are encouraged to attend.
