December 16 update:
Trinity Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kalamazoo holds prayer vigil to help raise awareness of Teleka's missing persons case.
Michigan Live Media Group published the following update to the story at 6:11 p.m.
Teleka's story was aired on the 8:00 p.m. showing of the Nancy Grace show on CNN Headline News.
On Sabbath, December 7, we prayed as a church family for missing Teleka Patrick - neice of our own Jean and David Gentles and Herman and Grace Bromfield. Teleka lived and worked in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and went missing on December 5. Since then, her car, a gold '97 Lexus ES300, was found near Portage, Indiana, but there has still been no trace of her. We are asking our church family to help in the search efforts in the following ways:
1. Pray. Pray that God will direct the ongoing search efforts. Pray that Teleka will be found. Pray for her family as they go through this difficult period.
2. Vote. We have the opportunity to have this story run on CNN and get national prominence. Go to this link - http://cnn.it/INS9RQ - and vote for the story to be run on CNN. Getting the word out nationally will increase the possibility that she will be found.
3. Share. Share this information with your family and co-workers. Ask them to pray and vote too. If you remember the television program - America's Most Wanted - many times, the perpetrators were caught because the neighbor next door recognized something was wrong. The more people who know about the story, the better the chances that we'll come across someone who knows something concrete. You can use this URL to share with others: metrosda.org/findteleka. There is also a Facebook page that is updated constantly with information: https://www.facebook.com/groups/178781135651392/
If you have a concrete tip for the police, please call the Kalamazoo Sheriff's department at 269-383-8821, option 6.
Teleka - Dr. Teleka Patrick - graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine this June with MD/PhD degrees, and moved to Kalamazoo to start her four-year medical residency program in psychiatry at the WMU School of Medicine.
