Beast 4 the Kingdom - the two-week journey from history to prophecy featuring the dynamic preaching of Pastor Marquis D. Johns - got off to a fantastic start yesterday.

During the morning service, Pastor Johns introduced us to our study of Daniel by re-orienting our thinking about Nebuchadnezzar, the first king of Babylon.  In his sermon titled "Say Goodbye to the Bad Guy," Johns showed us that God wanted to use Nebuchadnezzar, someone we think of as heathen, as the 'bad guy',  just the same as He wants to use us.  You can watch "Say Goodbye" here.

Beast 4 the Kingdom officially starts on Sabbath (Saturday) morning, March 31, at 11:00 a.m.  We invite you to come on out join us for a sprit-filled service.

We're really excited, however, to tell you about the Saturday night program, when the Howard University Gospel Choir will present a mini concert!  You don't want to miss this dynamic group of young people as they sing about what Jesus has done for us.

The Beast series starts nightly at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 7:00 p.m.  Each night will feature an uplifting praise and worship session, prayer, a gift giveaway (including $100 gift cards, and 2 brand, spanking new iPad HDs), a cool video - and a dynamic Word from the Lord from Pastor Marquis D. Johns.  On various nights during the series, we will also feature specific intercessory prayer sessions.

In Luke, He forgives His killers, reassures the good thief, and commends His spirit to the Father. In John, He speaks to His mother, says He thirsts, and declares the end of His earthly life.

On Saturday night, March 10, "The Voice:  A Poetry Cafe Experience" made its debut at the Hyattsville Busboys and Poets location.  This is probably the first time Metro has hosted an event like this - a poetry slam featuring Adventist and non-Adventist poets, held at a popular food and poetry "joint".  We are happy to report that it was a complete success!

April 15 is just around the corner and the IRS calleth.  We understand that it is our duty while here on earth to "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's" (Matt 15:21), but if you've taken a look at a tax return form recently, you've probably immediately been rendered with a headache!!
